What Ive Been Doing

12

Hey guys and girls…. how are you all doing?

I haven’t been blogging much lately in fact it was October since my last blog post but im back and i wanted to write this post to tell you what ive been up to.

I took a trip to my home country Ireland to see my family which was great….well not everything was great the flight wasn’t all that enjoyable nearly 24 hours from Sydney to Dublin and back again, i won’t be in a hurry to do that flight again.

While i was over there i really didn’t get much time to work on my business because i was spending my time with my family and hanging out with some old friends.

What i did do was some thinking, thinking of ideas to write my first ebook.

I asked myself….What would of helped me the most when i started out online?

The answer gave me an idea, i said to myself why not write an ebook that will give people some direction, somewhere to start or even just give people some idea of what Internet marketing is all about.

When i started out back in August 2008 i didn’t have a clue what Internet marketing was and how i was going to make money from it.

Ok i still haven’t made money online but i was taught a proven system by my mentor Alex Jeffreys and now im in the process of implementing that system.

Alex also taught me that you only have to be a few steps ahead of people to succeed so i got to writing my first ebook recently and i hope to release it in the new year.

I got to tell you im really getting excited here,  im about 20 pages into my ebook and it’s coming together nicely, im fired up  and can’t wait to get it finished.

I also created some video tutorials for my ebook, doing these videos i was stepping out of my comfort zone even though im not in front of the camera it can be hard to record your voice, it was for me anyway.

But i was determined to get them done so i downloaded a free trial of camtasia studio 6 and got down to work,  you can see my effort in my How to Videos page.

Also i have sat down and spent some time planning for my business.

Planning really does help a lot, it keeps you on track on what you are doing and it clears up what needs to be done in your business to move forward.

After doing some planning i set myself some goals for the new year,  setting goals really gets me working on my business and best of all it gets me moving forward fast.

So here are my goals i set for myself….

-Get ebook finished

-Arrange graphics for ebook

-Set up a squeeze page

-Write follow up emails in Aweber

-Write more blog posts

-Work on traffic generation for blog and squeeze page

I was going to try and get my ebook finished and released by the end of December but with Christmas and the New Year celebrations just around the corner i decided to set a date to the 15th of January.

Well that’s my plan and it should keep me busy for the rest of this year, i better get to work if i want to reach my goals.

That’s all from me for now it’s good to be back blogging.

Till next time,

Nick

    Hi Nick,

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog!

It’s great to read you’re working on an e-book. I’ll be waiting for it, you bet.

You’ve got a great looking blog going, really. The pictures you have in it make it fun to go through, so if you request a Website Grader report don’t pay too much attention when they say ‘Too many images found’, that’s a comment more suitable for static websites, not blogs.

    Keep up the good work!
    Jose

    Nick,

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.

Wow! That is some plane ride! 24 frikkin hours! Yikes!
I thought flying to Hawaii from SoCal was bad and it’s
only 5 hours. Sounds like you had a worthwhile trip, though.

It’s late, so I won’t take the time to look beyond your
post. Best of luck with the ebook. I’d like to see what
    you come up with.

As for my article writing business, not much happening
there. I haven’t gotten any notices that anybody has requested
any articles. I probably need to tweak the SEO for the sales
page, as the underlying html is not very bot-friendly and that
    hurts my rankings.

    great guy.

    Thanks for stopping by mike,

    Hi Nick,

I’ve just left you a reply to the question you left about disclosing your affiliate links. Just let me know if I can help with anything else. ;)

Firstly great looking blog you have here, I like it.

The goals you’ve set look pretty good to me, but I would recommend you to focus on getting your ebook finished as soon as possible, and then get it in as many JV Giveaway events as you can. I wish I had started the JV Giveaway’s lot sooner, I’ve managed to build my list from 35 – 100 in just a few weeks or so since I started the Giveaways.

I have a page on my blog with listing latest JV Giveaway’s which I keep up to date as I can. I would suggest you find a good ebook, some software, or package with resale rights and submit it in a few a Giveaways while you finish your book. That is what I did to build my list while i was writing my ebook. ;)

After you’ve got your list to 200 or so you can then start doing adswaps with some of the other students, and as soon as I get to 200 that is what I will be doing too.

I seem to have gone on with myself a bit here so I’ll leave it there, I just wanted to give you a few pointers so you don’t go wrong where I did when I was at your stage. (which I’m not that far in front of you now.)

I hope you will stay in touch, and if you have Skype send me your ID via my contact form on my blog, and I’ll add you.

I remember when I first started online, bought a book on ebay and got hooked from there.

You always know more than someone and if you can give people what you know then your well on your way to a good following.
